Organizations

Overview

Organizations are the top-level entity in Pay-i's hierarchical structure. Each organization serves as a container for all your Pay-i resources, users, and settings.

What is an Organization?

An Organization in Pay-i represents a company, business unit, or independent entity that manages AI resources. It defines the broadest boundary in your Pay-i account and encompasses everything beneath it:

  • All Groups and Applications
  • All users and their permissions
  • Billing and subscription information
  • Organization-wide settings

User Roles and Access Management

In Pay-i, access permissions are managed at the group and application levels rather than at the organization level.

Pay-i currently has two user roles:

  • Owner: Can modify settings, manage users, and access API keys for the groups and applications they own
  • Reader: Can view data but cannot make changes or access API keys

These roles are assigned separately for each group and application, allowing for flexible access management across the organization.

Organization Creation

Organizations are created during the Pay-i onboarding process. To create a new organization or for questions about the process, contact [email protected].

Best Practices

Consider these best practices when managing your organization:

  • Single Organization for Most Use Cases: For most companies, a single organization is sufficient
  • Clear Naming: Use a clear, recognizable name for your organization
  • Regular Audits: Periodically review user access and permissions
  • Documentation: Maintain documentation about your organization structure and policies
